so i did that thing i said i was going to do and made a server!!! its for black sails stuff but there are also catagories for general discussion, other fandom, etc. i was also thinking of putting a space for RP if folks RP? either original or in-canon stuff i guess. everyone can have whatever they like.

@sybilius​ tagged me (thanks), asking me to talk about 5 things that make me happy. Please tag 10 other people, if they haven’t already been tagged in previous posts.

1.  My son.We may argue about my driving, and his occasional sexism, and politics, and books, and films, but we like and respect each other. Somehow I must have done a few things right. Am glad that he is one of the “traces” I will leave behind.

2.  Finishing the final draft of something (article / story/ haiku / hopefully book), and thinking that it may bring a bit of new knowledge, or a moment of clarity, or a moment of joy, to at least one other person. If it does, I will not have lived in vain.

3.  Learning assorted bits and pieces of assorted languages and then using said bits and pieces to communicate, however little, however brokenly. Better if I am helped by patient native speakers, who explain that “hos bulduk” is the answer to “hos geldiniz”, that you get “up on to” a stagecoach seat, and that there are several German ways of expressing frustration beside “Scheisse”.

4.Friends, in the wider sense of “people with whom, for an hour or fifty years, there is meaningful contact”. They add  warmth, joy and challenge to life.

5.  Slowly accepting that doing absolutely nothing can (in small doses) be permissible, beneficial, and fun.
